Questions & answers

Zanus AI for Manufacturing: questions & answers

Can an AI answer dealer and customer calls for a manufacturer?

Yes. AI Phone answers your sales, parts, service and accounts lines on the first ring, including the distributor calling from two time zones east before the plant opens. It gives lead time and order status from your approved data, files claims and RMAs, books technicians and transfers engineering questions to a person.

Does the AI give engineering, application or safety advice?

No. It answers only from your approved catalog, spec sheets, manuals, SDS, price lists and policies. Questions about load or pressure ratings, chemical compatibility, tolerances, materials or whether a part suits an application are transferred to an application engineer or the territory rep with the transcript attached, and it never approves a substitution outside your cross-reference.

Can it quote RFQs from our price list?

Yes, for catalog items. AI Quoting builds the quote from your price list and the account's tier, reads prices from the list rather than computing them, and files it for one-click approval or sends it automatically under a cap you set. Engineered-to-order parts, drawings and special pricing are captured complete for the rep.

Who decides warranty coverage when a dealer files a claim?

Your warranty desk does. The AI files the claim complete with serial number, purchase date, dealer, failure description and photos, checks it against your written rules and routes it. A coverage decision, a goodwill repair or an out-of-window exception always waits for a person, and the dealer is kept informed of the status.

Can the Back Office compare supplier quotes against our drawings?

Yes. Send one RFQ with the drawing and the spec to your suppliers; each quote, in any format, is read and laid out line by line against the drawing’s items, quantities and lead times, so your buyer picks with the gaps in plain sight.

Does the Back Office keep the right drawing revision on each order?

Yes. Every drawing and BOM revision is filed with its date and linked to the orders that use it, so planners and inspectors open the revision in effect, and a new revision is flagged on every open order it touches.

How do the Front Office and the Back Office work together for a manufacturer?

The Front Office answers the dealer or the buyer, checks the part number and the account’s tier, and books the technician or sends the quote; the lead, the call transcript and the booking land on the account’s record in the Back Office, where the order, the drawings and your plant’s work take over.
