Can an AI answer the church office phone when nobody is there?
Yes. It books rooms and appointments with the clergy and transfers a pastoral call to the pastor on call.
Does the AI pray with callers or offer spiritual counsel?
No. It never offers prayer, counsel or grief support in its own words, and never interprets doctrine or teaching. A prayer or care request is filed and passed to the pastor on call, and a ceremony question is answered with your published requirements and a conversation booked with the clergy.
What happens when someone in crisis calls the church?
The AI reads your approved crisis wording, including emergency numbers such as 988, and transfers the call to the on-call pastor. It never counsels. A disclosure of abuse or a concern about a child is routed only to the designated person your church names.
Can the AI decide who may be married or baptized at our church?
No. It states the published requirements as your church wrote them, such as preparation classes or membership, and books the conversation with the clergy. Who may marry, be baptized or be buried from the church is always the clergy's decision.
