Questions & answers

Zanus AI for Health & Human Services: questions & answers

Can an AI answer the phone for a benefits office?

Yes. AI Phone answers the benefits line on the first ring in 40 languages, explains programs and required documents from your published information, books and moves interviews, and files change reports with a tracking number. Questions about eligibility or a decision are filed for a caseworker or transferred.

Does the AI decide who qualifies for benefits?

No. It makes no eligibility, benefit-amount, case, appeal, placement or custody decision and gives no legal, medical or financial advice. It explains programs in general terms from your approved information, and anything about an individual decision goes to your staff with the client's question on the record.

Can the AI tell clients the status of their application?

Only where your agency allows it and only after identity is verified by your own rules. Then it can read back what you expose, such as application received, interview date or documents outstanding. Otherwise it files the question for a caseworker and gives the client a tracking number.

What happens if a caller reports abuse or is in crisis?

The call goes to a person at once. The AI uses your official wording for the abuse and neglect hotline, 911 or 988 immediately, and transfers to the on-duty worker by your rules. It never counsels, screens or files such a call as a routine request.

Can the Back Office track recertification and periodic report dates?

Yes. It reads each case’s benefit period, puts the recertification, interview and periodic report dates on the calendar with the assigned worker, and sends reminder drafts for approval before a date passes. Whether a household stays eligible is always the caseworker’s decision.

Who can see a client’s case file?

Only the people you allow. Each household’s documents stay on their own record, sensitive fields such as health or protective-services notes are shown by role, and every view and action of the AI and of your staff is on record for audits.

How do the Front Office and the Back Office work together for a human services office?

The Front Office answers the client, explains the documents to bring and books the interview; the request, the call transcript and the booking land on the client’s record in the Back Office, where the case file, the verification documents and the due dates take over for the caseworker.
